What happens if you need to move your WordPress site? Maybe you found a better hosting service, got your own domain name, or maybe you're finally ready to move to production. This course offers an advanced way to migrate a WordPress site from one location to another by duplicating and resetting the database. Let Morten Rand-Hendriksen guide you through the five steps of migration, and get you up and running in your new location.
Note: This method creates a new duplicate of the original website, but it requires detailed database work and effectively results in a hard reset of the target site. Proceed carefully.
(MUSIC) Hi! I'm Morten Rand Hendriksen and welcome to Migrating WordPress. The database reset method. This course is designed specifically to address complex WordPress migrations. When you want to move a WordPress site. Either from a local WordPress Installation to a live Web Host. Or from one live server to another when you want the entire site to be duplicated. The method explained in this course is advanced and should only be used when the regular imports do not work.
You will be working with the Database here, so there is a significant risk of breaking things. In other words take your time. And be prepared to do things a couple of times before you get it right. Now let's get cracking.
