In Word 2010 Essential Training, Gini Courter uses real-world examples to teach the core features and tools in Word 2010. The course starts off with an orientation of the Word 2010 interface, and then delves into the functionality at the heart of Word: creating, editing, and formatting documents. It also covers proofing documents, reviewing documents with others, sharing and securing documents, working with tables, and illustrating documents. Exercise files are included with the course.
If you are a premium member of the lynda.com Online Training Library, or if you are watching this tutorial on a DVD-ROM, you have access to the Exercise Files used throughout this title. You can download the Exercise Files from the Online Training Library or copy them from the DVD-ROM to your desktop. The Exercise File folder includes a separate folder for each chapter, as well as a folder of all of the images that are used throughout the course.
If you open the folder for a chapter, you will find files for specific movies and then files used more generally throughout this chapter. For example, movie 04_04 has its own file. Movie 04_05 has its own file. Then there's a Definitions file that you can use with other movies in Chapter 04. Some movies have more than one file, for example, in Chapter 08, where we will be combining different design elements and illustrations with Microsoft Word. You'll find that 08_08 has two different files that are used.
So, you'll need to use both this Chart document and this Excel file in movie 08_08. In some chapters, there are a variety of documents, some of which are tied to a particular topic and some of which provide background information to the documents that are already in use. If you are a monthly subscriber or annual subscriber to lynda.com, you don't have access to the Exercise files. But you can follow along from scratch with your own documents. Let's get started.
