Fill light
>> Now, the key light is the most important light that you'll place initially, but it works in conjunction with the fill light because you sort of want a dominant side, don't you? Oftentimes, we're trying to get one side a little bit stronger than the other, a sense of shadows. Sometimes you want them really strong. Sometimes you want them really soft but rarely are the two lights perfectly even, are they? >> It depends on the story. I mean, if the emotional element of the lighting or the contrast, or the lighting ratio, wants to be something on the stronger, more dramatic side. Generally speaking, you know, those ratios between key light and fill are increased. Their range is increased. There's more shadow. If it's meant to be something more what we call high key and a little less dramatic, that ratio goes away. It could be just the placement of the key light in a spot that promotes the need for very little fill or you add, you add that fill light to such a ratio that, that, you…
