When it's just about time to shoot one of things I like to look through is really make sure that there aren't any wardrobe issues. Now this is often an overlooked step. Many people think you have to work with what you're given. But don't be afraid to make adjustments if its going to improve the shot. Here's some things that I look for. Is the person wearing any fabric that's going to cause problems in camera? Really tight patterns, herringbones, checks. There are lots of things that could look distracting. Sometimes it's called Moire. But as they move around, is it causing a problem in camera? Is the color or contrast ratio from the backdrop to their skin, to their fabric, really standing out? If your subject has really dark skin, and they show up wearing a bright white shirt, this could be problematic. You really want to make sure that you consider things like dark grays or creams or light shades of gray, rather than pure blacks or pure whites, or Overly saturated colors could become…
