>> One control that we briefly mentioned before is the ability to dim. Not all dimmers are created equal. Some lights have built-in dimmers. Some physical dimmers exist that you could put between the power source and the light. What's your take on when to user a dimmer and when it's a bad idea? >> Well, dimmers are a incredibly convenient way of managing the output of a light from say, a remote distance or, or somewhere that you can't readily, you know, get access to. Traditionally, dimmers work by actually manipulating the voltage going through the electrical cable to the light. By lowering the voltage you lower the output, but what would also happen at the same time is you would change the color temperature. You would make it generally warmer as you decrease its output. So, if you're trying to maintain constant control of your lighting, changing the color temperatures unintentionally like that is not a good thing.
