- After your personal safety I think there's one golden rule of sports no matter what you're shooting, and that's to get the shot. And getting the shot isn't just a matter of luck. It's more so a matter of being prepared with the right gear, coming with a plan of attack, and thinking through how the whole piece is going to come together in post production. Then making sure you're in the right place to capture some sports-moving magic. And if you're not shooting an actual competition and just working with friends or one-on-one with a cooperative athlete, remember people can't always land the same trick every time and can easily get tired or worn out after a few runs of a demanding sport.
