Shooting outdoors at night
One of the more fun and challenging types of scenes that you can shoot are night exteriors. Now, night exteriors, if you're talking about any type of medium or wide-shot, obviously, is going to require that you have a lot of lighting instruments. So, in this scene right here, we have a couple of different instruments going on. Now, if you're lighting things at night, you want to make sure that any light source you're using is motivated by the natural scene. So, one of the things I have going on right here is, we have a big one by one LED light unit, that's lighting me up right here, that is balanced for 3,200 degrees Kelvin. So we put a gel on it so it's nice and warm. Now, I also have another warm light that's coming from the direction of the camera. So, between these two lights, I'm being covered with lights that's motivated by the ambient businesses and streets around me.
