What's one of the best parts about being a video professional? All the cool gear! In this weekly series, Rich Harrington and Robbie Carman team up to discuss the latest and greatest equipment for video production and post. They talk about the newest cameras, like the Blackmagic 4K, pocket cinema cameras, and GoPros; accessories and adapters that will make your shoots run smoother; and the great tech being invented every day. And because they keep both cost and quality in mind, you'll never have to worry about blowing your budget or compromising production value. Come back every Friday for a new tip.
This series is from RHED Pixel. We're honored to host this training in our library.
>> Hey there I'm Robby Carmen. >> and I'm Rich Harrington. >> And Rich this week we're talking about a piece of professional gear that I have been longing for for quite some time actually over a year now. >> Yeah. >> And that is the black magic production camera 4K and this an ultra high definition 4k-ish. >> Yeah. >> You know, we'll get to that difference in just a sec. Camera from Black Magic. And there's been a lot buzz about this camera and it's really neat. >> Yeah, there's a lot of interest in this camera, like all things Black Magic, there are things about this camera that I love, and there are a couple of things that leave me scratching my head, and we're going to cover both the pros and the cons with the workflow.
>> Absolutely, and if you've ever used a Blackmagic cinema Camera that's a 2.5K camera. That Blackmagic has. Almost everything about that camera and this camera are identical down to the form factor, the screen, the buttons. The real big differences are of course the sensor, and the ability of this camera to record ultra high definition. >> Yeah, and just to be clear we're working with one of the final sort of production models. This is one that's one of the first ones off the line, first one to hit the store. >> Yep. >> We borrowed this from our friends over at Atorama and this is not actually the camera that's being sold yet.
>> Right. >> Those cameras are supposed to be coming on the market probably about the time you're watching this. So we have one that's supposed to match the final specs, but. All things saying this is not a final shipping camera. >> Sure. >> So there could be slight differences between the two. All right with that in mind, let's kick things off and, we're going to take a look at what we love about the camera.
