So, I just showed you a bunch of different places that we can hide a loud mic but where we going to hide this big thing right here. Body pack's a little bit trickier but not that tricky once you know a few secret techniques, so I'm going to share some of the insider secrets with you right now. And that is first off, this one isn't that much of a secret. Everybody knows about the small of the back. So, most common place we're going to be hiding a loud mic is exactly there. That's the mic that's picking up my audio right there. So, right there on the waistband, anywhere behind the subject, usually not seeing people's backs too often.
You just want to make sure it's not too bulky. So, that's the most common place. Where else? If the subject has a jacket, which I put on just for this demo. It could be hidden in here, so I also have a microphone right here inside of my pocket. So, any type of jacket, suit jacket, whatever they have, you can hide it in there as well. Where else can we hide it? We can also hide these in the ankle. I've got a little body pack hidden right there so. If you need to, again, different costumes call for different solutions. This might be a little bit uncomfortable for some people so you might want to put on two pair of socks so it's not right up against your skin.
But this one right here can also be hidden a couple more places. Where else can we get it? If somebody has a really tight dress or tight skirt on, small of the thigh right here. So, if somebody had something that stopped right here, I could tape it right inside of here, again use some medical tape. Something like that would hold this into place with no problems. So, small of the thigh, if we have to, for really sheer outfits. And then another solution for sheer outfits, like the one that I showed you earlier, that's very common. If you look at the award shows, the Oscars, Golden Globes, anything like that. If you pay attention, when actresses walk away.
You'll often see a body pack right here mounted in the small of the back right on the back of the bra. However, they can mount it on there. So there are a bunch of creative ways and places that you can hide body packs as well as microphones. And I wanted you guys to have a full arsenal places to hide them. Because not every technique is going to work for every costume, for every blocking, for every actor or actress but at least one of these techniques should work for you. And remember the most important thing, regardless of which technique you use, is that you make sure you still get good audio.
