Getting the interviewee to use the words you need

Female 1: Another thing you can do to help your editor really get things organized, especially if that editor happens to be you. Is to get the words you need. Almost every interview has certain keywords that you want or your client wants. So one of the things you do is you basically cue your interviewee. You want to mirror to them the words that you want to use. You may say something like, what's bold about this program? Or, tell me what race to the top really means. Or, can you describe, Susan with a few adjectives? Susan is, or what is the most important thing? You kind of want to lead them down these paths. They're going to mirror you. They're going to hopefully use the same language you use, and that will remind them to incorporate these important words into what they're saying.
