- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Simon Allardice, and welcome to SharePoint Designer 2010: Creating Data-Driven Web Pages. SharePoint has become a huge part of many organizations, but most of them still have a lot of data and it's not all in SharePoint. It's in other databases, other systems, and it's going to stay there. In this course, I'll take you through how to get to that data and get it into your SharePoint web pages, so you can view it, analyze it, format it, use it, even edit it using the regular SharePoint web interface. I'll then talk about how to connect to external systems, databases, web services, XML files. We'll explore something called BCS, a new feature in SharePoint 2010, designed to make your life easier when doing this. And we'll see how to format pages and web parts and apply your own formatting rules to highlight and display data the way that's most useful for you. And we'll finish by creating custom forms to allow you to create and edit information in external systems. So…
