If you ever get stuck or want to know about a future and SMART Notebook, on the menu bar there's the word Help. So we're going to go to that menu bar, Help, and I'm going to go ahead and select the SMART Notebook Help because I find this website to be very, very helpful. It contains a lot of technical data, and it's easy to use. Now if you know exactly what you're looking for, then go to the Index, and go ahead and search your keyword. But if you're not sure, go to the Contents and browse the basics.
In my case, the other day I was wondering what type of sound files can I, can I play on SMART Notebook. So I went to the Index, I'm going to launch my keyboard, and I'm going to place my cursor in the Search box, and I'm going to go ahead and type the word Audio. As I'm typing the word audio, I have some options that appear. I'm going to go ahead and close that keyboard, and I'm going to follow the link to Audio Encoders. When I found this, this is exactly what I was looking for. It tells me that the SMART Notebook software supports the FLV and the MP3 formats.
But it also told me how I can install something that'll allow me to play all these other types of sounds. One more thing. Lemme close that browser. One more thing. You may have seen this icon on my toolbar, and you also may have seen the very same icon below my side tabs. It's SMART Response, an add-on to SMART Notebook that allows the instructor to gather data through students using handheld clicker devices. I hope that you've become more familiar with the ways in which you can use SMART Notebook as an effective tool to help create a dynamic learning environment in your classroom.
Your familiarity will hopefully unleash your curiosity. Just by using your SMART board regularly and playing around with it, you will become more conversant with the array of tools at your disposal. Ultimately, you'll discover what works best for you and for your students. I'm Steve Blatt, and I hope to see you again.
