The Floating Tools toolbar gives you access to a myriad of tools, while outside of SMART Notebook. To launch the Floating Tools, go to your Notifications area and click on the SMART Board icon. So, there it says show Floating Tools. We're going to go ahead and launch that and this is our Floating Tools toolbar that launches and just like the name implies, it is a Floating Tool toolbar, and that means that it'll be in front of whatever application or your desktop that you want.
So for example, if I want to go ahead and launch Word. There's my Floating Tools toolbar in front of my Word. This allows me to use any of the SMART Board tools while I'm working in Word. So for example, if I wanted to use the spotlight and I do love the spotlight, spotlight allows you to draw student attention to one particular item. I use that spotlight off of the Floating Tools toolbar. Let me go ahead and exit out of that. Other things that I really like on my Floating Tools toolbar would include my Right-click button, my Launch Keyboard button, my Orientation button.
But you get to choose which tools you want on your Floating Tools toolbar. And the way you do that is you go down to the cog that's down at the bottom and this customized Floating Tools toolbar, appears. And so, when we want to add something to the toolbar, it's as simple as grabbing that tool and dragging it onto the toolbar. So, I'm going to grab Print Screen and I'm just going to drop it right there on the toolbar. And if I wanted to remove something from the toolbar. Say, for example, I want to remove my red pen.
I'm just going to grab that red pen and drop it back over here. Oh, it didn't come off. Let me try that again. Grabbing that red pen and dropping it off. There we go, it worked that time, okay? As useful as the floating toolbar can be, it's also a bit of a pest when it's always there. You can minimize it by using the arrows and you can pull it around using the pull bar. So I'm going to go ahead and hit Done on my customizer. Done. And I'm going to show you that you can move it around, and you can also use the arrows to send it right up to the edge of your screen.
But, most importantly, you can go to the SMART Notebook icon in the notifications area and you can select hide Floating Tools toolbar just as easy. Easily, so here's hide Floating Tools, right there and that Floating Tools toolbar has disappeared. There will be times when you'll want to minimize distractions and maximize your real estate.
