Join Ed Cotey in this course, as he goes over the finer technical points of space planning in Autodesk Revit. Learn how to add your building's parameters into a schedule, make a block plan with mass elements, use Revit's Tag and Area tools to track room names and types, and use color schemes to explain where materials go and where rooms are located.

Topics include:
  • Creating a schedule by room
  • Sorting and grouping the schedule
  • Creating mass elements
  • Developing the block plan
  • Creating rooms in a plan

Welcome

Hello. My name is Ed Cotey and welcome to Revit for Interior Designers. In this course, we'll create a series of dynamic, schematic designs with high visual impact. I'll start by showing you how, after meeting with a client, you can take your programming information. And input it into Revit's powerful database. Then I will show you how to make a block plan using Revit's mass element tools to create a nice schematic. And a schedule to go along with it. We'll see how to use Revit's room element tool, tag, and area tools, to create and track room names Tags and room types.

We will learn how to leverage this information to create useful schedules and floor plans. With our space plan virtually completed, we will look at how to create color schemes to explain where materials go on the plan. And where rooms and apartments are located. We'll be covering all these features plus plenty of other tools and techniques. Now let's get started with Revit for interior designers.
