You can have a lot of different types of content to a publication in Microsoft Publisher. Right now though, we're going to talk about removing content, and how we delete objects and frames. We're going to continue to work with our FlyerAd here. If we go to the second page, page 2, and we just zoom in, let's go up to about 100% now. Now we'll just scroll up, where we can see the objects we added. Here is a shape. Here is another shape down below. You'll notice when you click them, handles appear around the outside.
So when you press the Delete key on your keyboard, you remove whatever is selected. Another option is to right-click the object. When you right-click, you'll see a pop-up menu, with a number of options, including Delete Object. So let's do that. Now let's start a new publication. We'll go to the File tab. Click New. We'll go down to Brochures. We'll just select any one of the brochures that show up in your Installed Templates. It really doesn't matter what you choose here, but when you click Create, you'll be creating a brand-new publication.
In this case, you're going to see content that's already there. Now these are called placeholders. For example, if we go to the first page here and click just below Back Panel Heading, you'll notice that all of the text is selected for you. It's not really there. It's just information telling you that this is a good place to briefly but effectively summarize your products. So here is where you would type over what's there. If you press the Delete key, you'll be deleting all of that content, but not the frame itself. Now you can start typing in your own text. If you want to remove the entire frame though, click the border, and then press Delete, and away it goes.
If you need to delete more than one object at a time, you can do that as well, just by selecting multiple objects. Let's go down to the first panel. Click once on that image. Now hold down your Shift key, and click on the image on the third panel. Notice that the two items are now selected. Sometimes you get business information showing up that's inserted automatically for you. If you don't want it, you can delete it as well. Let's hold down Shift as we click the Two Trees logo. Now we've got three items selected. You can right-click any one of them, and choose Delete from the pop-up menu, or press the Delete key on your keyboard, and all of the selected items are removed.
So when it comes to removing objects, whether they be pictures, or shapes, or text inside a frame, even the frame itself, remember, using your Delete key on the keyboard, or right-clicking, and choosing Delete from the menu will help you to remove those items when necessary.
