Continuing on with our exploration of some core color correction techniques, in this movie, I want to discuss something that I think you'll be finding a lot more of in your own projects. And that's Log and Raw video. Now, what do I mean by Log and Raw video? Well, these are newer technologies, they're not new-new, but they're newer that allow you to get the most out of your footage. Log recording sort of increases the overall dynamic range that you can get in a shot. And when you look at video that's been recorded log, it looks rather flat and kind of desaturated, and really doesn't look all that good. And it almost requires that you color correct it in post-production. Now, what's raw video? Well, if you've ever shot photos with a digital still camera, you've probably encountered a Raw photo. Now, RAW allows you to manipulate sensor data. That's right. You can actually adjust settings that you normally would in the camera in post production. Things like ISO and color temperature…
