Direct integration between an NLE and a dedicated color correction application has kind of been a holy grail for a lot of companies over the past few years. Many have attempted this integration but none, in my opinion, have succeeded as well as Adobe has with Premiere Pro and SpeedGrade. And that syncs the direct link technology found between these two applications. Essentially, Direct Link allows you to open up a Premiere Pro project file inside of SpeedGrade. You can apply your looks and your grades inside of SpeedGrade and then simply save the project. And because it's a Premiere Pro project you were working with. When you open it back up inside of Premiere Pro, guess what? All of your corrections and all of your looks have been applied. It's an insanely powerful and intense workflow that cuts out so much time. Instead of having to export files and pass off interchange files like XMLs and EDLs.
