Chapter 7 adds a few more tips that I wanted to share with the lynda.com subscribers. I want to start by showing you a few things that we can do during the slideshow that you might not know about. If we wiggle the mouse, the pointer will appear and we can access the Pointer Options menu and the Slideshow menu in the lower left corner. Here we can convert our pointer to a Pen and Highlighter and change its color. The markings that we've made, called annotations, can be preserved after we finish the show if we like.
I'll press Esc to end the show early. PowerPoint asks us if we want to keep our ink annotations. If I say Keep, those annotations are now part of the slide. I can still click and delete them. Returning to Presentation mode, the Slideshow menu lets us jump to a specific slide, access a specific section, change shows on the fly, black out the screen or make it all white, and a number of other features.
Note that many of these commands and more can be accessed through shortcut keys. Press the Question Mark for a pop-up reference.
