Pinterest is a social media tool that allows you to bookmark content around the web in a visually pleasing arrangement. In this course, author Justin Seeley illustrates the basics of setting up and managing a Pinterest account and explores ideas for finding inspiration. Fill out your profile, add friends, and start pinning. Discover how to share activity on Facebook and Twitter, add your own image and video pins, and plan for activities like a wedding or vacation. The course also covers pinning on the go with the iOS and Android apps.
In addition to creating pins using the Pinterest mobile application, you can also create boards. In order to create boards, just navigate to your Profile section and then tap on either Create Board or if you want to create a secret board, tap on Create a Secret Board down here at the bottom. Once you tap on Create Board, it brings you to the Create Board screen. You give it a title and then tap Done. Give it a description and then once you type out a description, tap Done again and then select a category. So in this case, you can just scroll until you find something you like and tap Done.
At the bottom, you'll also have the ability to make this board a secret board if you want to. You don't have to. Then simply tap on Create. You'll get a confirmation screen saying it created the board, and then you should see it pop up right there in your list of boards. If you'd like to edit a board that exists already, just simply navigate to that board and then up here in the top right, you can click on the little gear icon and that allows you to change the title, set a description, and also change the category. From here, you either save your changes or cancel to get out.
If you like to remove a board completely, just navigate to the board, tap the gear icon, and then choose Delete Board. It will ask you if you're sure you want to permanently remove this board. Tapping Delete removes the board; you cannot go back. Tapping Cancel will cancel that operation and allow you return back to the editing screen. Tapping Cancel here will return you back, and tapping the Back button will take you back to your profile, where you can see all of your boards. So as you can see, it's not just about adding pins to your Pinterest account from the mobile app; you also have full control over the boards as well.
