There's one more type of pin that we haven't discussed yet in this course, and that is the gift pin. And this is something that's a little different on Pinterest, and it's also kind of an interesting way that you can make a little extra money. Gifts on Pinterest refer to pins that have some sort of price referenced in their description and they've been turned into what are called gift pins. You can go to the gift pin section by clicking on Gifts right here, and once you get to the Gifts section, you will notice there are several different gifts available that have varying price tags, anything from $5-$10, all the way up to $235 for that one right there.
And you can add your own gift pins by simply uploading a new pin and attaching a price tag to it. So for instance, if I wanted to click Add right here and hit Upload, I could choose a file and I'll just go out and grab my Home Remodel, and let's find this hammer and I'll hit Open. So let's say that I'm selling this hammer. I'm going to add this to a new board called Gifts and I'll click Create and I'll say, "This hammer could be yours for $5," and I'll click Pin It.
Once I do that, you are going to see that I get a new pin, same way I always do, but now I have a $5 price tag associated with it, and it did that by reading the dollar sign and the number right after it in the description. So, if you'd like to start selling some things via Pinterest, this is a great way to get started: simply add in a price, upload the pin, and you're good to go. You can also bring in items from other services like Etsy and CafePress. All you have to do, pin those items from their respective pages on those services, and they'll be listed with a price tag just like this. And that is what a gift is and how to get started using them as well.
