Certainly one of the more popular uses for Pinterest has been for people to plan their dream wedding. I know a lot of people that have aggregated all of this information that they want, everything from the type of cake to the place settings, to the dress and the tuxedo that are used in the wedding as well. Pinterest is a great place to aggregate this information and then either share it with other people who might be helping you plan the wedding or share it with your spouse, to let him know exactly what he's going to be doing on the big day. Let's take a look at a sample board I have created entitled Wedding Plans. When I click on this, you can see all of the different areas of the wedding that we've already begun to plan.
For instance, I have got a dress over here, and this dress is going to be something like my wife would wear. And the description says, "This is one of the dresses my wife really likes. It has that rough wild look with graduated skirt, and the classic look with the strapless. It's so her." And it really would be. And so this is something I found online, just to give us a suggestion maybe to my wife. You can also see here we have got an example of what my wife might want her hair to look like. So let's pretend that I'm sitting here with my wife. She is standing over my shoulder. We are browsing the Internet, and we are finding these things and I'm simply pinning them to Pinterest so that we can save them for later.
She could then take his photograph and print it off or just simply share the pin with her hairdresser, and they could take a look at it and say okay, this is what I want my hair to look like on the big day. Here, this one, this is going to be the exact color of the bridesmaid's dresses. It might not be the dress exactly, but my wife saw this online somewhere, liked the color, and said, "Hey! Pin that so that we can remember that color for later." I've also got some areas where we want to get married, like the archway where we want to walk down, an example of the place settings that we want on our tables. I have got an example of a little piece of the suit that I might choose to wear and then finally, an example of the platinum rings that we might be going for. Something simplistic, but nice.
And so all of these things can be aggregated together inside of this pinboard and then shared with various people or even shared on other networks like Twitter and Facebook. It's a great way to crowdsource your wedding and get opinions from your friends, your family, or whomever you might be wanting to help you with the planning. So, as you continue to use Pinterest for projects like this, take some time, think outside the box, and really dig down deep and find these little nuggets of inspiration that will help you plan your events and make things go so much smoother.
