Pinterest may not seem like a natural spot to share your music, but it's actually a great promotional tool—it supports sharing or "pinning" of audio and video as well as photos. Join Bobby Owsinski as he shows how to promote your band, your music, and your gigs on Pinterest. Learn how to start a page, optimize your website or blog for easy pinning, and post pictures, audio, and video to your boards.

There are a number of shortcuts you can take from your Pinterest page, and although you might look at this and think the design is fairly stark, everything really does have a purpose. So, let's start with the Pinterest logo, up here. If you hit the Pinterest logo, this will show you the feeds of everyone that you're following, as well as your own profile feed. So, for instance, this is something that we just post in a previous movie, this particular picture. And again, if there's something that you like, all you do is you would pin it, if you want, or you can favorite it, by hitting the icon here.
There's another thing that we can do that's kind of neat. Of course we can follow people if we like, and these are all the people that I'm following and some suggestions as well. And if you like to unfollow somebody, it's the same as following, you just come down and you hit the Unfollow button and then you will not be following them any longer. And this shows the people that are following me right now, and I should actually be following them back. Another cool thing about Pinterest is the ability to search.
And we come up here and for instance, I put in recording before. And here are all the possibilites. I'll just click on recording equipment, and these are pins that we can see. If I want, I can just see my pins. I don't have anything that says recording equipment specifically or that, that's tagged that way. You could find pretty much whatever you want by just doing this. We can also look at boards for recording equipment. And pinners, there's not a lot you can see in this particular category.
But these are some quick shortcuts that you can use in Pinterest that can get you where you want to go fairly fast.
