Whether you're editing a JPEG or a RAW image, the Tuning menu will be really valuable to you as you adjust Shadows, Highlights and Color Temperature of your image and when used in combination with the Basic Fixes, provides some powerful results. We talked a little about Fill Light. This is the exact same slider that's on the Basic Fixes, just used as convenience. Tuning is done a little bit more detail. Think of these as levels in other programs. We have control over the Shadows.
So as I move this slider further to the right, it will make the darks darker. And think of the Highlights as getting brighter, as I move that to the right. Color Temperature will also be something you want to play with. This allows you to move slider to warmer or cooler scenarios. Now the Neutral Color Picker is somewhat helpful. What this does, as you select the eyedropper, gives you a chance to go in and select a color that is denoted as neutral. Once you select that neutral color, it will color-shift and adjust the histogram according to that neutral color.
You get entirely different results, if you select a much darker neutral as like gray. You see how it keeps a little bit warmer? Let's try it again on a darker image. So what it does is it keys off of that color pixel as if that's the neutral color and color-shifts it entirely differently. Once you get the hang of this, you can start to understand the basics of how this color-shifting works. So the Tuning palette is really valuable. So what happens if you click on this guy? Well, this is One-click, what this does is it uses all of them together.
This is kind of like auto-adjustments from the previous Basic Fixes palette. If you want more control, I would suggest just working on the sliders themselves independently. If you wanted to go with a quick fix, go ahead and click on the One-click fix. That's the basic of the Tuning palette.
