Hey, welcome back, more on Preferences. Let's take a look at our thumbnail preferences. The first group of preferences we have refer to Performance and File Handling. Now, we can choose this checkbox to prefer Adobe Camera Raw for JPEG and TIFF files. And what that means is, if you have JPEG and TIFF files, do you want to be able to process those with the Adobe Camera Raw settings? In my own particular workflow, the majority of my shooting is digital capture. Therefore, my images are almost always starting as Raw files and then if anything, I'm saving them out as JPEG's or TIFF's. So I already have a Raw file to work with. In my case, I am not checking that checkbox. Okay, when creating thumbnails and generate quick thumbnails, high quality thumbnails or convert to high quality when previewed. Now, this is a really important question and what's happening here is {italic}Bridge {plain}is asking us if we want to simply view quick thumbnails, for Raw files, that would be the JPEG embedded in the Raw file. Do we want it to generate a high quality thumbnail? Or, do we want it to convert to a high quality when we click on an image? Now this is obviously going to depend on your own workflow. If you simply choose high quality thumbnails, what you're going to find is that there's more time initially, but then in the long run, you'll have this high quality thumbnail if you need it. Now the argument against this, is that you're losing a bit of time and file size to generate all these high quality thumbnails that you might not need. So, the argument in that case would be to then go to Convert To High Quality When Previewed, when you click on the image, then generate the high quality thumbnail. Again, this is going to depend on your system and how you tend to work. I'm going to leave this on for this training simply because I'm not working on a ton of files and I know that all the files that I'll be working on, I want to have that high quality thumbnail generated. Next, Do Not Process Files Larger Than 200 MB and only you know the answer to that question, you know how big your files get, etc, etc. Alright, the next group of preferences we have are details. Now, we can display additional lines of thumbnail metadata, this is pretty cool. So if I move this preference window over a bit, I can see I have a file name and I can say additionally, let's show the color profile. There we can see that there's a {italic}Photoshop {plain}document that is tagged with an sRGB color profile. And as you can see, there are a number of different things here that we can choose to have {italic}Photoshop {plain}display for us in our additional lines of thumbnail metadata. I'm going to go ahead and turn that off. Next we have Show Tooltips. Now if you're new to {italic}Bridge, {plain}I recommend you turn that on because it will help you out as you're working in {italic}Bridge. {plain}The final group of preferences we have are Stacks. There is a new feature inside of Adobe {italic}Bridge CS3 {plain}and its this feature that allows us to stack or group images together. It's really cool. Now, inside of {italic}Bridge, {plain}we also have the ability to playback a stack. So, imagine if you will, let's say, five images stacked on top of each other. If they're stacked on top of each other, you can only see the top image. Now, you have the ability to play through the images that are underneath that top image.

Here's where you control the frame rate. And again, you have a number of different options, I recommend you leave it on the default 29.9. Okay, more ground to cover and you got it, we're doing that in the next movie.
