One of the more interesting new features in CS4 is the ability to rotate your view at any arbitrary angle. It makes it pretty easy to simulate in what you are do in your real life when you are drawing, how you turn your paper so your hand fits more naturally as you are drawing to the angle of the thing you are trying to draw. So you can now do that pretty easily in CS4 through the Rotate View command and it's actually a tool. If you tap the R key, that switches you to the Rotate View command or the Rotate View tool and you've got some options up here to set a specific angle, but most of the time you're just clicking and dragging and rotating that view to wherever you want. Of course, you can continue to zoom in and out and pan and what not.
What I like about is when you actually draw with let's say Marquee tool what actually draws your selection at that angle as well, which is kind of handy. So a couple of things to mention here. If I go back to Command+0 or Ctrl+0 to Fit to Window... No matter what tool you are in, say if I'm in the Brush tool or whatever and I want to reset my view back to it's original orientation, the quick easy way to do that is just hit the Escape key, the Escape key on the upper left-hand corner of your keyboard and that takes you back to 0. I find it's also easier to use the spring-loaded shortcut technique for doing the rotate. So if I'm in the middle of brushing, I'm going to make my brush size bigger with my right bracket key here and I want to zoom in a little bit, I'll Command+Plus, Ctrl+Plus, but now I want to rotate my view, just hold the R key down. That takes you into Rotate View temporarily, let go of the R key, you're back to where you were, you can go ahead and paint and do whatever you're going to do and then again when you're done, you want to reset this back to 0, just hit the Escape key and you're right back where you started.
So that's new Rotate View and a couple of keyboard shortcuts to make it easier to use.
