Printing a black-and-white image

Just to help tie it all together, I am going to take you through a complete process from opening an image to getting a final print. This is going to be a black and white printing process, and as you have already seen, that involves some different steps than color printing. But I am going to get this image adjusted. I am going to need to do the other things in my workflow, sizing, checking the noise reduction, sharpening it, and then finally, delivering it to the printer. So I have this shot here that I took of an old piano. I want this to be a black and white image and the main reason being the little bits of color that are in here, I don't think they really add anything, I think they are actually distracting. And this image is so much about these hard lines and about the tonality that I think is just going to work better as black and white. So I have already set up a black and white adjustment layer in Photoshop that's doing my black and white conversion. There wasn't a lot of toning…
