All right, we are now ready to press the Print button. Let's go ahead and do that that will then open up the Print dialog window where we can dial in our final print settings. Now, there are a couple of things that I need to do here. I'm going to go ahead and choose the printer, the EPSON 3800. My Presets, I'll go to Standard, because it's not Matte paper, so Standard will work fine. Next, I need to go to this next pulldown menu and go to my Print Settings options here. Now, there are just a couple of options we need to dial in. Most importantly the Media Type. We need to go to our Photo Paper, Premium Glossy; I want to make sure I'm always selecting the correct type of media. Great! The other settings look fine. Color Settings, I have the Epson sRGB, that's going to work fine. High Speed, with that turned on. What that means is it's going to print in a bidirectional way, meaning as the printhead travels across the paper, it will set down ink and then as it goes back it will also set down ink.
Now, if I turn that off, what's going to happen is it's just going to set down ink when it goes one way. The ink cartridge or the ink head will lift up off the paper to travel back to the other position and then set ink down just in that one direction. So what that does is it gives the ink a chance to dry. So if it's a pretty important image, you want to turn that off, yet I found with the Epson 3800, it actually doesn't matter that much leaving that on or off. All right. Well, at this juncture I'm now ready to press the final Print button and send this to the printer. So all I would need to do is click Print, and then I would cross my fingers, hoping that this print will look amazing.
Sit on the edge of my chair and wait and then watch that print roll out of the printer. Most of the time it's an incredibly exciting experience. I still get excited about seeing that final print; there is just something about it.
