Photoshop for Photographers: 2014 Creative Cloud Updates
Video duration: 0s 2h 34m Intermediate Updated Oct 06, 2014

Creative Cloud delivers the latest Photoshop updates right to your computer, but how do you stay on top of all these new features and integrate them into your digital workflows? Chris Orwig is here to provide a photocentric guide to Adobe's updates, adding new chapters every time changes are released. To start, Chris covers correcting with Focus Area and explores the Content-Aware tool changes, the Path Blur filter, and the improved Layer Comps workflow, as well as updates to Camera Raw. Check back often for new tutorials.

Hi, my name is Chris Orwig. You know new features in Photoshop are always exciting, yet they're added so frequently now it can be hard to keep up. Well that's where this course comes in. In this course we'll focus in on those new features which are most relevant to Photoshop's core, and that is how we can use Photoshop to improve our photographs. In this course, we'll cover new features like, Focus Area, which gives us the ability to build a selection based on the in focus areas of the frame.

We can then use that selection to apply some creative corrections like to modify color and tone. Or to sharpen a select area of the photograph or even to combine multiple images together in one frame. We'll talk about how we can improve our retouching when working with our content aware tools. Here we'll look at how we can take advantage of color tolerance which allows us to achieve even more seamless results. We'll examine how we can use a few blur filters, and how we can add a circular spin to our image to add some motion.

Or how we can create a more creative or free flowing blur which follows a path. And we'll examine how we can use a new feature in Adobe Camera Raw which gives us the ability to preview the before and after view of our photograph. Now we'll be covering all of these features and more, and the goal of this course isn't to simply showcase the features, but to really talk about how they work, so that you can begin to use them right away. Alright, if you are ready to dive in, let's begin.
