(music playing) Hello, I'm Tim Grey. I've been very fortunate to have many opportunities to travel around the country and around the world. And along the way, I certainly capture many photographic images. Every now and then, one of those images ends up being very special to me. And in this course, I'm going to share one of those images with you and show you the process I went through to transform the photograph. The photo was captured in Tokyo, Japan. It was the first photograph I captured after venturing out of the hotel room on my first full day in Japan.
When I clicked the Shutter Release, I felt that it was going to be a great photograph. When an elderly woman who spoke no English, signaled for me to come over and then taught me without language to pray at the Buddha shrine the importance of that photograph became even greater. The problem was, when I got back to my hotel that night and downloaded the images, I was disappointed with the photo that I thought was going to be so great. I left the image alone for a little while and continued with my photographic journey in Japan. Later, I spent some time with the image and realized that with a set of adjustments, I might be able to create an image that captured the mood of the experience I had capturing the scene in the first place.
And in this course, I'll guide you through that process. Talking about the various adjustments I applied, explaining the decisions I made and actually showing you the adjustments in real time. I hope you find the process entertaining and rewarding, and that it helps you realize the full potential of some of your own photographic images.
