All right. Let's learn a really quick technique for brightening teeth, getting rid of the yellow. It's so super easy. Here is what we are going to do. We are going to start with Lasso tool and just click on the little Lasso icon or press L. And just make a really loose selection around the teeth that you want to adjust. It doesn't have to be all that complicated. And we are going to go to the Adjustments panels and choose the Hue/Saturation Adjustment. Go ahead and click on that. Next, go ahead and click on the Targeted Adjustment tool in the Adjustments panel. I don't want you to have to bother trying to figure out which specific shade of yellow, whether there is cyan in there or red or whatever.
The Targeted Adjustment tool is going to take care of that choice for you. I am going to click on that tool to make it active. We are going to go click on the tooth here, and then just start dragging to the left until the yellow is gone. You are desaturating those teeth. Now, the reason I had you make the Lasso selection before you began is when you start with the selection, if you take a look over the Layers panel, that selection converted itself into the layer mask for that Adjustment layer when you added the Hue/Saturation Adjustment layer.
You can turn off the visibility of that layer. There is before. Turn it back on. There is after. And you can see that desaturation is only happening in this region of the image because we had made that little selection. You can see there is a little white dot. I'll Option or Alt+Click on the layer mask itself, and you can see that's where the adjustment is being limited to. Everywhere it's black, it's protected. Everywhere it's white, it's revealing that adjustment. I'll Option or Alt+Click again to bring back the image. And it's that simple. This particular retouch can take five seconds. Make a selection, add the Adjustment layer, grab the Targeted Adjustment tool, click on the tooth itself and drag to the left until the colorization is gone, and you're done.
