Lighting and photographing a jewelry set

For this particular setup, we've talked about using continuous lighting, and I'm going to use two different kinds of light sources. Here I've got a simple goose-neck desk lamp, and in it I have a compact fluorescent bulb. That produces an output equivalent to a 100 watt incandescent bulb. An then over here I have a standard shop light. And it's got a 250 watt tungsten bulb in it, And we're using a little foil to mask it off. So that when I turn this on, it doesn't wash me with the light from this and turn me into some kind of a zombie apparition. our set here is ready to go, so the next thing I'm going to do is bring the camera on. Unlike the previous shots where we came in about a three quarter angle, in this one I want to shoot almost directly down on it. So I'm going to set the tripod up a little bit differently. I'm extending this back leg. And this'll bring the camera forward and may throw the balance of the tripod off. So I'm going to add a sandbag on this back tripod leg to…
