Exporting video

Video: Exporting video

Well, once you finished your video editing. You, of course, want to export it. And this is quite easy now in Photoshop CS6. You just have to click on this little button here in the Time panel. And then, the Render Video options open. You can specify the location where you want to save your video. You can give it a name and you can create a sub-folder. And what makes this Render dialog so easy is that you have some presets here. I think in the most cases with this compression H.264 format, you are right because this is a good compromise between file size and quality. And then, you can choose between different presets, and here you'll find a lot of them.

Exporting video

Well, once you finished your video editing. You, of course, want to export it. And this is quite easy now in Photoshop CS6. You just have to click on this little button here in the Time panel. And then, the Render Video options open. You can specify the location where you want to save your video. You can give it a name and you can create a sub-folder. And what makes this Render dialog so easy is that you have some presets here. I think in the most cases with this compression H.264 format, you are right because this is a good compromise between file size and quality. And then, you can choose between different presets, and here you'll find a lot of them.

So, you can optimize it for the iPhone, for the iPad, for Android phones. You can choose High, Medium, and Low quality. You can export it for HD, for Vimeo, or for YouTube videos. And that's very nice. I think I just render in high quality. This is a document size. You can specify the document frame rate, 25 frames per second is very nice, I think. And you have some more advanced options here. And the Field Order or the Aspect Ratio on different devices.

You have some sort of distorted aspect ratio, so you can export the video for those devices. You can specify the range of the video you want to export so all frames or just some of them. And if you have some 3D models in your scenes, you also can specify the render quality for those objects. I will now just save this video on the Desktop and click on Render. And I already tried this, so I overwrite this and I replace the existing file by clicking on Replace.

And now, the video is rendered and I'll be right back when the rendering has finished to show you the result. So, and here we are back again. The video rendering has finished. And we find the video here on the Desktop. So, let's start it and have a look at it. (FOREIGN) We see the rather slow Canon (UNKNOWN) effect, and now, the image should fade at any moment.

And it's very slow, (LAUGH) maybe I should have taken shorter time spans. But that's the result when you just scrap through the video like I did with this blue slider all the time. So, I just speed it up a little bit. See here, the filter has applied. Here the image fades. Now the food just stops. This is the cut we made. And let's see, in the end, the video should fade to black.

You see it worked. And how easy it was to combine two clips. Trim them, split them, add some images, and animate those images. And animate even the video clips in this video. Well, have fun with the new features. Try them out and make some nice videos.
