Every once in a while you come across some small little change or seemingly small little change in the new version. Like CS4 for instance. That just makes you smile, and you are like, oh man what took you so long Adobe? And the example here is how to delete a layer. In every single version before CS4, you kind of have to go through little dance. You have to click on the Trashcan and select the layer you want and either drag it with the Trashcan or actually click on the Trashcan. Then it would bring up this dialog box thing, are you sure you want to delete it? I mean well then you could hold down the Option key or the Alt key or something to make it, skip that dialog. Well, now it's much more straightforward. So if I click on a layer and I want to delete it. What would you instinctively think to do? Well, how about hitting the Delete key or on Windows the Backspace key? And sure enough, hey look at that. It actually deletes a layer. Well it turns out it actually deletes group as well. So if I have a group selected and I hit the Delete key, or the Backspace key on Windows, it deletes the layer group as well.
So why did I need to record a movie for that? Well if you are using Photoshop from previous versions, again this is brand new behavior. So there you have it, the Delete key finally works in the CS4.
