Once we finished our work in Photoshop's Print dialog, we'll go ahead and click the Print button. This will then open up our printer- specific dialog, and in this case, I'm printing to the Epson 3800. Now there are a couple of things that I'm going to need to do here. So let's go ahead and dig into our Options. What we're going to do is click on this pulldown menu and navigate to Printer Settings. Now there are a few things that are really important. First of all, we're going to define how this paper is going to be fed into the Printer. Sheet Feeder, that's fine. The Media Type, what we want to select here is Enhanced Matte Paper.
We want to be consistent. Because we've selected Enhancement Matte here, we need to be sure to choose that here. Now what Print mode do we want to use? In this case, we're going to use the AccuPhoto HD Print mode in order to have good color. Now in regards to our Color mode, we have a few options. What we want to do is turn off, so there is No Color Management. Remember that warning message that we received? It was saying, be sure to turn off Color Management inside of your Printer's dialog. Well that's exactly what we're doing here.
Now we have some Output Resolutions that we can choose, and then also a couple of other options; for example, High Speed. Well, what that will do is it will print in both directions. In other words, as the print-head moves from left to right, it will set down ink, and then it will also set down ink as it moves from right back to left. Well, on the other hand, if we turn this off, it's going to take a little more time, although it will only set down ink in one direction, for example, as the print-head moves from left to right. Well with this particular printer, I've found that I have success with High Speed on or off.
For really important prints, I leave that checked off, for more normal prints, or ones that aren't quite so important, I'll go ahead and turn that on in order to speed up my overall workflow. At this juncture, now that we've made our way through the Epson Print dialog, all that we have to do as our final step is to simply click the Print button, and that will then send this image to our printer.
