Brushing to correct

Many of the functions we've seen so far correct the appearance of an image according to a few specifications, and a bit of numerical input. There is nothing wrong with these commands, and most are extraordinarily useful. But all the automation in the world can't eliminate the need for old-fashioned, roll-up-your-sleeves, slather-on-the-elbow-grease, sometimes-toilsome-but-always- rewarding artistic labor, such is the case for retouching and healing in Photoshop. Whether you want to even out flesh tones, whiten some teeth, heal away skin blemishes or add a little bit of sculptural toning, it's time to forget about the matrix and turn your attention to the Brush tools. Because these tools require you to paint directly in the Image window, they respond positively to such commendable attributes as talent and dexterity. If your fine motor skills aren't everything you wish they were, no need to fret. I'll show you all kinds of ways to achieve great results regardless of your talents.
