Well, our image is looking good. It's going to print a lot better, because of what we've done to the snow. In this final movie I want to work on color and tone. I'm going to go up to my top Layer, click on the icon for Adjustment Layer > Curves. Here, what I'm going to do is look at the mountain up here. I want to brighten it up right there, click before and after (Preview button). Add a little bit of contrast to it. Click OK. Now invert the mass with Cmd or Ctrl I. You got it. Brush tool, B key. I'm going to paint with white. I'll paint it about 60% there. I'm just looking to bring a little bit of brightness into this area. You know what? I'm going to paint higher, 90%. Bring in much more of my Adjustment Layer was much more subtle than I had originally thought. Let's look at our before and after. Okay, nice. Now, simply lower Opacity. Blend it in just a tad bit. Cool, we have a little bit more detail up there in the mountains. Love it. Now the final thing we may want to do with this image has to do with color temperature. It would be interesting to see what this image would look like if it went cool or if it went warm. I'm going to click on the Adjustment Layer icon > Curves. From here I'm going to grab my mid- tone eye dropper, and click on the shadow here, which has gone blue. I want to neutralize that. Click OK. Take a look, so here is my before and after. A very different image. The warm in here needs to be tweaked a little bit, and it's a little bit too intense. So, first, let's tweak it. We'll go back to our Curves dialog window by double-clicking the icon for the Adjustment Layer. Let's go into our Green magenta Channel. What I actually want to do here is add just a tad of magenta. Go into the Red cyan Channel and pull a little bit of the red out. Then take some of the yellow out, so it's not quite so yellow. See how this is doing. Modify the Green Channel, click OK. Let's take a look at it. There is our before and after, the image has been warmed up a little bit. We have one potential color interpretation for this file. One of the things that would be nice if we are going to warm this image up. I love how the tent is still blue. I'm going to grab my brush, big huge brush, and paint with black at 100%. I'm just going to mask off that color adjustment on the tent, because I like that nice blue color.
Alright, well there we go. There we have one potential modification for the image, it might be nice to lower the Opacity just a tad bit. Just a little subtle warming on it. Okay, cool. There's another option I would like to run. I'm going to turn off the visibility of that layer. Click on the Adjustment Layer icon > Curves. Jump right into my Blue Channel, Cmd or Ctrl + 3. I just want to cool this thing way off. Cmd + 1. I'm going to add some cyan so it's just a nice deep blue.
Cmd + 3, maybe a little bit more blue. Click OK. Let's take a look at what we have. Here's our before and after. A much colder and very different mood. Let's compare that one to our warming one. Okay, so you can see that we have a number of different options. One of the things I'd like to do is give myself some flexibility, so that I can look away and come back to the image and see where I really want to take this.
