You can see here I have three open documents that are all arranged in tabs. I can click back and forth between them to switch between each open document. There comes a time though when you might want to compare the multiple images side by side. So you may want to split up the available screen area to divvy it up among the open documents. So to do that, you use the Arrange Documents widget and that's up here in the App bar. It looks like this little grid of images here. If I click on the button, I get a drop-down menu and you can see I've got some options. Now some of the options are available and some of them aren't. This is context sensitive.
So it knows how many images you have open. So since I only have three, any of the thumbnails here that represent four or more layouts of these document windows are grayed out, because they're not relevant, because I only have three open. So, if I want to split up the available area into three equal amounts of vertical space, I'd just choose the 3 Up button. You can see it divvies those up quite nicely. If I want to change that to horizontal, because maybe they're horizontally arranged images or whatever, I'll choose the 3 Up horizontal and I've got that particular layout.
If I ever want to recombine them into a single window again, just click on the document that you want to be the active document. So I want them all to be rearranged and have Flowers be the active document. I'm going to go back to the Arranged Documents widget and choose the Consolidate All button. That's that first button in the upper- left-hand corner and choose that and they all become one mannish window again, with Flowers being active. So, very quick ways just to divvy up the available screen real estate for the images that you have open. So you can do nice before and afters or compares of multiple images that are similar or just so you can see as many images as you want in the available screen real estate.
