Tony uses a LifeProof case, a leash, a discriminating eye, and a lot of ingenuity to capture real moments unnoticed. Once on land, he edits them under a self-imposed time limit to maximize their impact. Join him as he describes his editing process, using tools like Snapseed, Blender, and Mextures; explains how the Instagram community has motivated his work; and shares how he makes creative use of his mistakes.

Born and raised in Southern California, Tony Cruz is a visual artist who creates unique video and photography projects. Tony has been shooting with his iPhone since 2009, and is an active user on Instagram (@tonycruz). Tony also produces and directs short films. He currently lives in Ventura, California and is husband to Megan and father to Lucas and Ethan. Tony is passionate about surfing and visual storytelling involving the ocean.
