Composing the waterfall shot

It's time for the I in HIPS and that's isolation. Once we've found our composition, we really have to study that composition to make sure we've isolated our subject. In this particular composition, the creek is my subject. I've got it flowing from the upper left to the lower right. I want to eliminate any brown patches, anything that doesn't pop with color. I've got nice green moss on the left. There's a series of rocks. I've also got on the lower left some beautiful leaves to help anchor the scene a lower left. On the right I've cropped it pretty tight because we don't get the moss on the right, so I'm trying to make the best of the situation we have here. Moss on the left, and the creek flowing at an angle. What I love to do is use live view and just step back and kind of take a look at what we have here, study it, and I can make very subtle changes.
