Abba Shapiro introduces Perfect Photo Suite, eight powerful modules that allow you to enhance photos, add effects, swap backgrounds, retouch portraits, and convert color photos to evocative black-and-white images. Perfect Photo Suite can be used as both a standalone application and integrated with Aperture, Lightroom, and Photoshop. Abba covers both workflows, and delivers three different adjustment challenges, which help you test your skills.
This is an introductory course produced by RHED Pixel to help both beginner and seasoned photographers quickly realize the benefits of Perfect Photo Suite 8. We are honored to host this training in our library.
Well, once you've found the face, what's the next step? What do you have to do? And it's simple as going down to the next tool, and the next tool if you click on it, will actually show you where it thinks the eyes and the mouth should be. In the this case, because we only had one face in it, it fills a good percentage of the frame. It found the eyes and mouth pretty easily. Now I could go in and tweak it, it's just a matter of selecting the corners and moving them around.
In this case if I zoom in a little bit more, we'll go to 100%. I may want to close the mouth because we don't have any smile or we don't have any teeth showing. And don't worry that it's not precisely grabbing the full eye or the full lips, because the portrait module will look at the contrast between, say, the lips and the skin tone and already fix that for you. Now, in this case, it was one click and everything worked great. But there are some cases where it doesn't find the face.
And let's take a look how you would work with that. I'm going to go ahead and cancel this, and open up another image in our browse module. We'll go back to 05_portrait and select the soldier. Once we have that selected, we'll go back into the Portrait module and have it find our face. Now as you can see, in this case it can't find the face, and that's probably because of the angle that the soldier is facing, as well as the fact that the lighting is very moody and it's much brighter on one side.
So I'm going to once again position my box over his face, click on Apply and then switch back over to the Face Edit tool. Now in this case, you see that it missed where his eyes and his mouth are, so I can simply grab it by the center, move it into position, and then just adjust it quickly. I don't have to be perfect here. I just have to get close, and you'll see how well this works. Now the mouth is rather off, and we'll just move that over. And once we've reached this point, we're ready to start retouching our image.
