Now, once you've finished retouching the face, when it saves the file, it's a .psd layered file, and this is really cool. I'm going to go ahead and open up this image, I, have it in the Works in Progress folder. When I open this up, you'll see, that not only do I have this new retouched image, but directly underneath it, is the original bride image, and this is really useful because a lot of times, we go a little bit too far. We look at the image and we say, doesn't look real, and the beauty is, I can simply open it up, select the perfect portrait layer, and simply pull back the opacity and bring back some of the detail, some of the line, some of the realism, that we might have taken out with the retouching.
So, layers allow you to do retouching, that's non-destructive, because you can always pull it back.
