So the first time you visit your Newsfeed page, it will have whatever content on it, your IT folks have pre-populated to that page. So, when I go for example to my Newsfeed, there is precious little here, my name, that's works, that's it though, no photo, nothing in my Newsfeed. When I look at the Profile, or About me, an invitation to edit my profile, but I need to do some work. I'm not following anyone, I'm not following any documents or sites, and because I'm not, there's nothing here in my Newsfeed.
I haven't started any conversations, it's pretty empty. What does it look like for somebody who has been more active than I have been, what will your Newsfeed page look like after you've actually engaged in some social networking in your organization? To answer that question, let's go look at my colleague Mark LaCie's Newsfeed Page. Here is Mark's page. Mark's got an active Newsfeed even though he's only following three people so far, because they are very active as well.
Mark has gone in and made some changes to his profile; that's obvious, there's a nice picture of him. But I think what's more important is that you can actually see who Mark is Following, you can see folks who have mentioned Mark, no one so far, we can fix that. Here are all of the microblogs everybody has posted. So, there's lots of information here, because Mark is active. Mark is also looking at some specific sites, and so if there are changes in documents there, those too will flow to Mark's Newsfeed.
So, as you get more and more engaged in social networking in your organization, you will see more and more posts. We'll be talking more about how you can microblog here in SharePoint in our next movie. But this is what you'll see on your Newsfeed page when you're actively networking in your organization using SharePoint.
