We'll start off Chapter 7 with a quickie. Outlook has an underused feature called Outlook Today that shows you the day's tasks, along with your upcoming appointments. From your list of folders choose the highest level folder called Mailbox, and it probably has your name after it too, or if you are not connected to an Exchange server this will likely be called Personal folders. In either case, this is Outlook Today. It shows you the next several days appointments, upcoming tasks, note the red ones, mean they're overdue, and how many messages are inside each folder.
You can customize what you see here with the Customize Outlook Today link. If you really dig this feature, and a lot of people do, you can configure Outlook to always start here for you. From the Customize window just choose, When starting, go directly to Outlook Today. The next time you start Outlook, you'll be shown your Calendar, Tasks, and other useful information from Outlook Today. Ready for another quick video? Our next one talks about moving through Outlook's Contacts, Calendar and Inbox with just the keyboard.
