There are times when the recurring feature of an appointment won't work out. For example, next Monday I'll be setting up our booth at the County Fair. I've already created the appointment with plenty of notes and other details so that's all set. But I've just learned that I need to be there again on Thursday and the following Monday. Creating a recurring appointment won't help me here, but there is two ways to clone my appointment. Number one, drag-and-drop. In a prior video I showed you that you can reschedule an appointment by dragging-and-dropping it to another day or time.
If we hold down the Ctrl key while dragging-and-dropping, Outlook will create a clone of that appointment onto the day and time that we choose. Note that the original is still there. I can modify the new appointment and that does not affect the original, unlike a recurring appointment. Number two, copy and paste. If dragging-and-dropping won't work since this appointment needs to be set for next Monday, I can use copy and paste. I start by clicking on the border of an appointment and pressing Ctrl+C to copy.
Then I move to the Date and Time, I want the duplicate to appear, and press Ctrl+V to paste. That's it! The next two videos are for those of you who travel or work with people in different time zones. Let's proceed.
