It never hurts to keep track of the little details, such as a client's birthday or anniversary. While viewing a contact, we can switch to the Details view for additional fields that we don't normally see. Here you'll see fields for department, office, their manager's and assistant's name, their nickname, their title, and so forth. We also have fields for their birthday and anniversary. If you don't know the exact year that someone was born, that's fine; you can just go ahead and write 1900.
After plugging in the information and hitting Save, Outlook will store their birthday and anniversary for me. You'll see that Outlook automatically places the birthday and anniversary as recurring events on your calendar to let you know when the day approaches. If you want to give yourself a reminder in advance, you'll need to edit that event from the calendar. You can set reminders to be a few minutes, a few hours, days, weeks, or even a month in advance.
With that taken care of, let's move on to another useful feature: getting directions.
