In Outlook 2010 Power Shortcuts, author David Diskin shares an assortment of time-saving tips and tricks to maximize efficiency and productivity in Outlook 2010. When you have a task on screen, there are three ways you can change its due date. Why? Because let's face it, how often does something actually get done on time? The easiest way to change a task's due date is by right-clicking its flag. Here you'll choose from other deadlines such as tomorrow, this week, and custom, which lets you enter a specific date in the future. An alternative way to change due dates becomes available when viewing the Daily Task List. From here, we can drag and drop tasks to new due dates quite easily.
Of course this only works if the target due date is within a few days and visible on our Calendar. Number three, the double-click. A third way to adjust due dates is to edit the task in its own window. By double-clicking a task, you can modify the due date, along with other notes, and fields and then click Save when you're finished. Unlike appointments, an incomplete task is never forgotten. If a day finishes, its unfinished tasks will just move to the next day.
