Welcome to Chapter 3, "Creating, forwarding and replying the emails," loaded with power shortcuts and advice to help you save time while composing, making your emails look better, and a few handy tricks. We'll start off with some shortcut keys. You can start a new email from anywhere within the Outlook by pressing Ctrl+Shift+M. It even works while looking at my contacts or calendar. If I have an existing email already selected, I can reply to it with Ctrl+R. To reply to all use Ctrl+Shift+R, and to forward it use Ctrl+F. Once I've got the email opened I can begin addressing it, typing the subject and body, and I can do that with the keyboard too.
I'll send this email to Judith and use Tab to finish the auto complete, Tab again to jump to Cc, Tab again to go to Subject, and Tab another time to head down to the body. The next video has some shortcuts specifically about selecting your recipients, so I'll save that for later, but make sure you realize that you can press Tab to jump through the fields or Shift+Tab to jump backwards.
Once you're done, Alt+S sends the message out. Did you catch all of those? If not, check out the exercise files for a complete list of shortcuts mentioned in this course. Next up, let's talk about shortcuts to address your email.
