Discover how to integrate and enhance video and audio to create a more engaging PowerPoint presentation. In this course, author Alicia Katz Pollock emphasizes the technical details necessary to make a multimedia presentation work: from working with appropriate file formats, to applying video styles, to reducing the file size of multimedia presentations for sharing.
PowerPoint gives you the ability to rewind an audio clip after you play it. But under most circumstances, this check box would have no effect, because after your sound plays, it would start from the beginning automatically if you played it again anyway. You would use this technique specifically when you want to be able to manually stop the audio clip by clicking your mouse and then have the clip resume again from the beginning, instead of where you left off. I'm on slide three in my presentation and I'll click on my speaker icon. I'll go up to the Audio Tools Playback tab. In the center are a series of audio options.
Find the option that says Rewind after playing, and click on its check mark. Go down and play your presentation. Now, when I click on my speaker to start it, it plays and when I click on my speaker again, it'll start over. So every time I click, it starts from the beginning. Now, it's interesting to note that if I actually use the controller, it'll pause and play normally but the speaker will make it start over again.
As you can see, rewinding a sound clip after playback is not a common action. But when you need it, you'll be glad it's there.
