When you are viewing an e-mail, it's helpful to have more information about the sender right at your fingertips, and with Outlook 2010, you do. If you simply position your mouse over any contact's name in an e-mail heading, a small window appears, providing you with some basic information. Here I can see Judith's Free/Busy information, her title, and the business that she belongs to. If I double-click instead, I'll get even more information, including their phone number and e-mail address. Anything I see in blue is a hyperlink.
To schedule a meeting with Judith, I can just click the Free/Busy notice here, and the next available time is automatically selected. Of course, all this only works if the contact is in my address book or the Global Address Book. To add a new contact to my address book, I can pull down the Options menu and choose Add to Outlook Contacts. I'll make any changes that I need to and then hit Save. This concludes chapter 6. Our next chapter covers a variety of tips that span Outlook, including navigation shortcuts, using categories, and tips for e-mail etiquette.

Click on text in the transcript to jump to that spot in the video. As the video plays, the relevant spot in the transcript will be highlighted.
