Every now and then, you want to compose an e-mail in advance, but you'd like to let it sit in your Outbox and wait. Now here's a couple examples. Let's say your client's birthday is coming up, but you don't want to send a note too early. Or maybe it's 2 in the morning and you're still working, but you don't want anyone to know. Let's see how we can ask Outlook to hold on to the message for us until the time is right. When composing e-mail, before we send it off, we can click on the Options tab and then Delay Delivery.
This brings up the Properties window and places our cursor here. We can change the time and date that we want the message to be held until. Here I am saying that this message won't be sent until Monday at 7:30 in the morning. I'll double-check the message, make any other changes that I'd like to, and then hit Send.
Now normally this message would have gone right out, but if I look at my Outbox, I can see the message is waiting to go. It will stay here until Monday morning. Before you use this, you need to be aware of one simple limitation of the feature. Your computer must be on and online when you want Outlook to finally release the e-mail. In other words, if I defer the message until noon on Saturday, you better leave the computer turned on over the weekend. If the computer is turned off or disconnected from the network, it will eventually send it out, but not until he gets back online, and this is true even for users in an Exchange network environment.
But don't worry; Outlook will warn you if you ever try and shut down while they're still messages deferred in your Outbox. Coming up next is a quick video on sending a screen capture, or screenshot, with your e-mail. This is great when you've got an error message and need some IT help.

Access exercise files from a button right under the course name.

Make the video wide, narrow, full-screen, or pop the player out of the page into its own window.
Click on text in the transcript to jump to that spot in the video. As the video plays, the relevant spot in the transcript will be highlighted.
